Physical Education Power Standards

 

6th-8th Grade

National Standard 1: The physically literate individual demonstrates competency in a variety of motor skills and movement patterns.

Demonstrates correct technique for basic skills in a variety of activities.

National Standard 2: The physically literate individual applies knowledge of concepts, principles, strategies and tactics related to movement and performance.

Ability to safely move in space will participating in a game setting by combining locomotor movements with movement concepts.

National Standard 3: The physically literate individual demonstrates the knowledge and skills to achieve and maintain a health-enhancing level of physical activity and fitness.

Participates in a variety of lifetime recreational team sports, aerobic fitness activities and anaerobic fitness activities.

 

S3.M11.6

Identifies components of fitness including frequency, intensity, time and type for different types of physical activity.

Describes the role of warm-ups and cool-downs before and after physical activity.
